Summary:
Colville Junior High School is seeking applicants for a Head Cheerleader Advisor for the winter season. This position is responsible for supervising and providing instructional leadership to the cheerleading team, including the development and oversight of routines and skill-building activities. The advisor will coach both basic and advanced cheerleading techniques while fostering a positive, inclusive environment for all students. All activities must align with WIAA Interscholastic Rules and Regulations. This is a seasonal, extracurricular role beginning in January 2026 and continuing through the fall sports season. Extra-curricular positions are for one year only.
Essential Duties:
- Instruct and coach cheerleading team members in both basic and advanced skills, with a consistent emphasis on safety. Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all students while, ensuring full compliance with WIAA Interscholastic Rules and Regulations.
- Collaborate positively with the Activity and Athletic Program team to support and advance the core goals of Colville Junior High School and its extracurricular activities.
- Supervise assignments for athletic events.
- Help monitor spirit signs and make sure they are appropriate in content. Be responsible for the placement and removal of the signs.
- Approve all cheers and ensure they are positive in nature.
- Seek growth as a coach by attending camps, clinics, and pursuing other opportunities to learn current trends and teaching techniques in cheerleading.
- Run a vigorous and well-organized practice with a specific practice schedule, which includes specific objectives and goals for each day’s practice.
- Have a current first aid card with a copy on file with Athletic Director.
- Utilize Final Forms to ensure athletic eligibility and daily practice attendance. Carry with you, at all times, medical information/waiver forms and medical first aid kit.
- Supervise cleanliness of all facilities.
- Fill out and turn in an accident report form for all accidents within 24 hours to the Junior High School Office.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Two to four years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts as needed.
- Use of technology, i.e., keyboarding, when applicable
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Valid first aid/CPR card on file with the Athletic Director, and attend an HIV/hepatitis B seminar on a yearly basis and have it recorded on file with the Colville School District office.
- Current documentation on file that is required for the coaches standards and education program.
- A favorable reporting of a state and national background fingerprint check is required.
