Summary

Colville School District is seeking an Assistant Baseball coach for the 2025-2026 school year at Colville Junior High School. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and coaching both basic and advanced skills to individuals and teams while fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all student-athletes while adhering to the WIAA Interscholastic Rules and Regulations. Please note that all extracurricular positions are for one year only. Join us in supporting and guiding the Baseball team to achieve their fullest potential both on and off the field. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate regularly with the head coach to stay in touch with philosophies, strategies, techniques, etc.
  • Collaborate with fellow coaches in the JHS baseball program to share responsibility for achieving program goals and objectives. This includes teaching and coaching both basic and advanced baseball skills, and maintaining open, consistent lines of communication with all stakeholders.
  • Work as a positive and collaborative member of the athletic program to foster the primary goals of Colville Junior High School and the athletic program, working closely with the head baseball coach.
  • Assist in conducting well-organized practices and actively support all coaching responsibilities during scheduled games.
  • Serve as a positive role model for young people by consistently demonstrating high standards of morality, integrity, character, and sportsmanship.
  • Demonstrate unwavering ethical standards and conduct yourself in a manner that is principled and beyond reproach.
  • Be positive, enthusiastic, and patient with individual growth during their experience.
  • Help supervise the locker room prior to, during, and after all practices. No student-athletes are allowed in the locker room without an adult supervisor.
  • Collect and complete all eligibility information and checklists and turn them into the JHS Athletic Director prior to the first day of practice.
  • Carry with you, at all times, medical information/waiver forms and medical first aid kit.
  • Coordinate with the Athletic Director on all transportation needs and requests. School bus pick-up and drop-off will be at the big parking lot at the side of the school.
  • Coordinate with the Athletic Director when communicating with parents on concerns or issues.
  • Ensure that all student-athletes have transportation home after practices and games. Once the last student has left the campus, lock and secure all doors.
  • Check out keys from the JHS Office and check in keys within two weeks of the conclusion of the season.
  • Utilize Final Forms to ensure athletic eligibility and daily practice attendance.
  • Report all accidents within 24 hours to the JHS office.
  • Represent Colville Junior High and the Colville School District in a positive manner that reflects the best in sportsmanship.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Two to four years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts as needed.
  • Use of technology, i.e., keyboarding, when applicable
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Valid first aid/CPR card on file with the Athletic Director, and attend an HIV/hepatitis B seminar on a yearly basis and have it recorded on file with the Colville School District office.
  • Current documentation on file that is required for the coaches standards and education program.
  • A favorable reporting of a state and national background fingerprint check is required.
